Our Story

Serving Ocala and Surrounding Communities since 1961, our mission at South Ocala Animal Clinic is to help your pets live happier, healthier lives by providing exceptional quality medical and surgical care in a compassionate environment. 

What began as a vision for modern, state-of-the-art veterinary care has grown into a full-service veterinary hospital, boarding facility, and doggie day camp, serving Ocala and surrounding areas.  

Throughout our growth, we’ve remained committed to ensuring pets and their families receive individual attention and customized treatment plans in a comfortable, caring environment.

Dr. Meghan Abbott

Veterinarian

Dr. Meghan Abbott graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. With a lifelong love of horses, Dr. Abbott went into equine medicine after graduation but shortly after made the switch to small animal general practice. Dr. Abbott has found a passion for small animal veterinary medicine through surgery, dentistry and in-depth medical cases. However, Dr. Abbott’s favorite part of veterinary medicine is the bonds she develops with her clients both two and four-legged.

When Dr. Abbott is not practicing veterinary medicine, she spends time with her husband, usually dragging him to horse shows where she events her off-the-track thoroughbreds. She also loves a good day hanging out with her four dogs and six cats on their family farm.
