Our Story

Serving Ocala and Surrounding Communities since 1961, our mission at South Ocala Animal Clinic is to help your pets live happier, healthier lives by providing exceptional quality medical and surgical care in a compassionate environment. 

What began as a vision for modern, state-of-the-art veterinary care has grown into a full-service veterinary hospital, boarding facility, and doggie day camp, serving Ocala and surrounding areas.  

Throughout our growth, we’ve remained committed to ensuring pets and their families receive individual attention and customized treatment plans in a comfortable, caring environment.

Dr. Billy Hendrix

Veterinarian

Dr. Billy Hendrix earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University. He is passionate about providing high-quality care across a wide range of cases, with professional interests in surgery, internal medicine, and emergency medicine, where he enjoys diagnosing and treating complex conditions to help pets return to happy, healthy lives. 

Outside the clinic, Dr. Hendrix enjoys spending time with his wife and their two sons, along with their two French Bulldogs and a German Shepherd who keep things lively at home. In his free time, he can often be found training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, enjoying water sports, or spending time outdoors. Dr. Hendrix is committed to compassionate patient care, client education, and building lasting relationships with the families he serves.
